On April 3, we will be announcing the start of the Microchip 16-bit Embedded Control Design Contest. As you all know, Microchip is a well-received brand with ubiquitous development tools and processors. It抯 time to take advantage of the ease in which you can create a great project surrounding these well-known Microchip devices AND use this contest as an opportunity to learn about new PICs/dsPICs that are on the way.



The contest runs April 3 ?October 16, 2007, so there is plenty of time to really impress me with your project. Don抰 hold back. The fact that so many people enjoy using Microchip products means I抣l be looking at a lot more entries to publish either online or in the print magazine.

The usual contest support pages will be added at a later date, but we want to make sure you have a chance to get samples as soon as possible if you抮e interested in entering the contest.



When you fill out the sample request form, make sure you remind me of your previous Circuit Cellar contest entries, winning positions, and distinctive excellence postings. Contestants who actually submit projects to our contests are put at the head of the list when it comes to receiving future evaluation kits.  



Hopefully you will find this contest opportunity intriguing. The only thing that I ask is that you put some thought into whether you are really going to use any samples before simply getting on the list. The only reason that helpful kits like this are available free in the first place for our competitions is that Circuit Cellar contests show the best results in the industry. Essentially, you抳e proven that you actually build projects if we give you the hardware. Sponsors appreciate that and will invest more when they expect a credible return.
